Our first store is de Bijenkorf Amsterdam. The doors on Dam Square opened for the first time in 1915 and in 2001 the building, designed by Van Straaten, became an official national monument.

Den Haag

De Bijenkorf The Hague is not only an iconic building in the city center, it is also the place where our second store has been located since 1926. The building designed by the architect Kramer in Amsterdam style is a National Protected Cityscape.

Rotterdam

The first Rotterdam Bijenkorf - designed by Willem Dudok - opened in 1930, but the current building dates from 1957. The design by architect Marcel Breuer became a symbol for the reconstruction of the city.

Eindhoven

In 1969, the Bijenkorf expanded for the first time outside the Randstad. In the heart of the city, only a 5-minute walk from the central station, you’ll find the renowned building housing de Bijenkorf Eindhoven. This building, which was designed by Italian architect Giò Ponti.

Utrecht

In 1975 there were advanced plans to build the sixth Bijenkorf in the Lange Viestraat in Utrecht. Architect Willem Holzbauer has already completed the drawings. However, a complete Bijenkorf was only opened in the La Vie shopping center in 1987.

Amstelveen

After a major renovation by Merkx + Girod and Virgile & Stone on the existing building in the Stadshart, the Bijenkorf has been a shining eye-catcher in the Amstelveen shopping center since 1998, which has won several prizes as 'Best shopping center in the Netherlands'.

The Service Office

The Service Office of the Bijenkorf is located in the Oliphant building in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. More than four hundred colleagues work here and a great variety of specializations come together, focused on providing the most complete service to our (online) stores.
