What you'll be doing

The SRE team is an enabling team. As part of the SRE team you will be supporting development teams to build and deploy changes. You will also be assisting them in troubleshooting, reviewing pull-requests, and answering questions.
As a medior SRE in you’ll be expected to bring your experience to the table during the SRE team’s design and planning meetings. This also includes teaching and coaching your junior colleagues in different settings such as giving presentations and pair-programming. When not supporting your colleagues, you will be maintaining and improving the E-commerce platform. This includes aspects like: observability, stability, the ability to perform disaster recovery, information security, cost optimisations, and performance.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a socially intelligent and mature team player. Someone that likes to have fun, and does not take themselves too seriously. You’ll be expected to take ownership and be service oriented towards our users (i.e. the development teams).

To perform this role at the required level, you’ll need to have experience with the following specific technologies:

  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform

You’ll need a good understanding of the following broad categories:

  • Networking
  • Linux system administration
  • Information security principles and techniques

Other technologies we use, that it will be useful to be familiar with:

  • Argo CDAtlantis (Terraform Pull Request Automation)
  • Cloudflare
  • Prometheus
  • Elasticsearch
