Senior Data Scientist (Customer Data Platform)

About the position of Senior Data Scientist

  • As senior data scientist you will be pivotal to transform and activate all the richness of customer data to our website & app (content & product recommendations), online marketing channels (sea, social, email ed) and other touchpoints (Stores, customer service, ect.) in order to make our customer experience more relevant, personal and increase interaction. 

    As an organization we are continuously working to make our communication and offerings within customer journeys more relevant and personalized based on customer needs where data insights and data driven work are indispensable to achieve successful results. That why we develop our own composable Customer Data Platform (CDP) which is the central system for decisioning on customer data.

    In this role you will have a lot of freedom to initiate issues yourself and you will be part of several strategic projects such as further expanding the possibilities that our Customer Data Platform (CDP) has to offer, further improving our models for product recommendations or predicting customer value via LTV models in order to identify key customers and apply relevant personalized communication to them. 

    This role is part of the data & analytics team which consists of Data Engineering, Tracking & Measurement, Data Science and Data Analysis and you will work closely with various stakeholders such as the marketing team, customer loyalty, technology and commerce.

    Your main responsibilities:

    For this role we are looking for a Data Scientist with a focus on creating value from our customer data and the further development of our Customer Data Platform

    Recommendation Engine

    You work to enhance our recommendation engine for (personalized) product recommendations, content, and actions. And process behavioral data and feedback to continuously improve recommendation algorithms.

    Customer segmentation

    Continuously improve our customer segmentation capabilities, creating advanced customer segments to drive better purchasing and communication predictions based on behaviors.

    Customer Data Platform (CDP)

    You take a key role in use cases building on our Customer Data Platform (CDP), driving retention, personalized experiences, and upsell.

  • You are a key driver of leveraging all the potential in the data science area;
  • You proactively address strategic issues;
  • You manage Data Science implementations/projects;
  • You ensure that existing models are kept up to date/renewed, including in the area of personalization and segmentation;
  • You see opportunities to build new Data Science solutions and implement them to create business value;
  • You think beyond the use case and consider how to set up data products generically so they can be used broadly within the organization.
  • Collaborate with data team members to optimize data collection, integration, and storage

 

 

How you complete our team

We would like to meet data professionals with a passion for data who would like to have great responsibility in the further growth of a data driven mindset in our organization. In addition, you have the following profile:

  • At least 3 years of experience preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment;
  • WO working and thinking level; with a relevant education.
  • Extensive experience with programming languages such as SQL & Python;
  • Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
  • Experience with recommender systems, as well as using these to create value, e.g. through increased upsell or retention.
  • Experience with Google Big Query, Airflow, Docker & Kubernetes is a plus;
  • Proactive attitude;
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills, preferably in the domain of customer data.
  • Able to pragmatically turn customer data opportunities into relevant use cases.
